Hellen Motau is a Ranger at the SCI responsible for Public Relations and Finance. She joined the Institute in February 2022. 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of Johannesburg, and she is currently pursuing an LLB with the University of South Africa. 

Prior to working at SCI, Hellen participated in community projects as a volunteer, formed part of GBEM debating programme in high school from grade 9 to 10 and volunteered at UJ GoG for a short while in 2019. 

In terms of her passion, she believes that she has multiple passion that serve different purposes. She is a firm believer of  Elaine Welteroth’s quote that reads “We all contain multitudes. We all at different stages of our lives will have different passions that take the forefront. Abandon the notion that passion is singular”. 

Her passion that is taking the forefront now is social justice. She is a firm believer that good people & social responsibility are important in our communities to eliminate injustices, one at a time.
