The Supreme Cadets Institute Hosts The 4th Annual 3KM Achievers Walk to Promote Education and Positive Choices
The Supreme Cadets Institute (SCI), a youth-led non-profit organization based in Atteridgeville, a community in Pretoria, is proud to announce The 4th Annual Achievers Walk on June 8th, 2024. This event, aimed at promoting education and guiding adolescents and youth towards positive life choices, will take place at Mbolekwa Sports Complex in Atteridgeville. Guests and the local community can look forward to participating in an interactive 3km walk which will feature performances by Cadets and addresses from specially selected keynote speakers.
SCI is dedicated to fostering positive transformation and learner growth in communities. Through tutoring, mentoring and training, they empower leaders and schools to deliver quality education to learners, with values centered around the guiding principles of integrity, ethics, humility and perseverance. SCI provides a safe and supportive platform for adolescents and youth, which has made a significant impact on the lives of over 1400 beneficiaries, including 29 young individuals in an exchange of skills, and providing numerous bursaries. The Institute is spearheaded by youth coordinators, also known as Rangers, who are previously unemployed graduates that receive vocational training through the SCI programmes.
The Supreme Cadets Institute currently provides infrastructure support to two primary schools, from which they actively recruit and guide their primary school Cadets: Sefako Makgatho and SK Moseneke Primary School. Through sponsorship partnerships, SCI has built four classrooms—two at SK Moseneke Primary School and the other two at Sefako Makgatho Primary School. Additionally, SCI has completed the ablution refurbishment project at SK Moseneke Primary School.

The Achievers Walk aims to inspire adolescents and youth to prioritize their studies and empower them to make choices that benefit both themselves and their communities. The walk aims to echo the sentiments of SCI by advocating for a holistic approach to reaching one’s full potential, acknowledging that success isn’t solely defined by academic achievements, but also by positive conscious decision-making that aligns with one’s aspirations.
This year’s 3KM walk is set to inspire participants with the theme “Dress for Your Future,” emphasizing the importance of education and positive life choices as keys to a brighter future beyond academic achievements. The event, designed to celebrate diverse career paths and envision a dynamic future for the community, invites attendees of all ages to engage creatively with their aspirations. Attendees are encouraged to choose a color representing their industry path of interest upon their walk registration, which they will then be encouraged to come dressed in for the event. These colors, which are also woven into this year’s creative direction, represent careers within Technology, Commerce, Agriculture, Humanities, as well as the Arts, aligning with this year’s theme that celebrates dressing for success.
As inspired by the Supreme Cadets Institute Founder and Patron Koketso Moseneke’s quote, “Not everyone can get a PhD, but everyone can make a positive decision to enhance themselves and their communities” , guests will leave the event understanding that the path to success is not narrow and allows for everyone to walk their own individual path to reaching their full potential.
The Supreme Cadets Institute invites community members from Atteridgeville and surrounding areas to join The Achievers Walk in Making Education Fashionable.
Be Good, Do Good.
